Graeme Champney joins Australis Crop Protection

Australis Crop Protection has welcomed Graeme Champney to the company. He is based in Kingaroy and will be responsible for much of the business across Queensland.

Graeme brings 36 years’ experience to Australis. Graeme started his Agricultural career with BGA AgriServices Kingaroy where he spent 15 years as a sales agronomist, before taking on the role of General Manager overseeing the Merchandise, Livestock, Real Estate and Grain Trading divisions.  Most recently Graeme spent 13 years with Adama as one of their leading Commercial Managers based in Queensland.

Graeme says, “It’s a great opportunity to be involved in a company that has the potential of Australis and I am really excited to be part of the team. I am going to enjoy working for a smaller company and being able to watch it continue to grow over the next few years.  One of my early goals will be to spend as much time as I can with resellers and growers.”

On a personal note, as a passionate rugby league supporter, Graeme has spent his spare time over the past 18 years working for NRL Clubs as a recruitment officer. He has recently accepted a role with the Brisbane Broncos in elite player development for the Queensland country areas.

Australis Crop Protection was started in 2011. It is Australian owned and operated. The company specialises in supplying high quality Australian made products at competitive prices.  Company Directors, Peter Foreman and Tim Capp, used 35 years’ combined experience in the Australian ag-chem market to develop a business model focused on customers’ needs.  They were joined by Paul Smith in 2015 and continue to focus on growing the business sustainably, having a streamlined supply chain, and building and maintaining strong relationships with their clients and suppliers.

The strength and success of the business to date comes from the support of their long-term customers, the supply of an ever increasing range of Australian made quality products at competitive prices, and their low cost business model. They will continue to look for new opportunities with experienced staff such as Graeme and will continue to expand the business into new areas nationally.
